Lawrence Miles will oversee sales and servicing for Southern California

NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES, October 25, 2011 — BNY Mellon's wealth management business has named Lawrence Miles to be regional president for the firm's growing Los Angeles Office. Miles reports to David Emmes, President of U.S. Markets-West and is based in the company's new Century City office, which opens today.

Miles previously served as Executive Vice President with the boutique investment advisory firm, Convergent Wealth Advisors. During his ten years with that company Miles held a number of increasingly responsible positions in serving individuals and institutional clients.

'Larry's appointment is yet another sign of our incredible growth over the past two years," Emmes said. 'His extensive business development and management experience is a great fit for our expanding LA office. Year over year, our total assets under management have grown by 17 percent and we are continuing to add staff with plans to hire three more in the coming months. Miles earned his master's degree in international business and economics from the London School of Economics and a bachelor's degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
