Miller Brings More than a Decade of Experience in Investment and Wealth Management Services

SAN FRANCISCO and NEW YORK, October 19, 2011—BNY Mellon's wealth management business has appointed Justin Miller to the position of senior wealth strategist for investment management. Based in San Francisco, Miller reports to Head of Family Wealth and International Businesses Donald Heberle and will work closely with BNY Mellon teams in California, Washington and Colorado.

Miller, a 12-year veteran in the investment management industry, was a senior vice president and managing director of Wells Fargo Private Bank where he worked with a team of professionals to provide wealth management services to wealthy families, senior corporate executives and closely-held business owners. Before that, Justin practiced as an attorney at Sidley Austin and Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen & Shapiro, advising high net worth clients on tax-effective estate and business succession planning, trust law and management and asset preservation.

"Comprehensive wealth management services are central to every growing client relationship, especially as clients navigate an increasingly complex investment environment," Heberle said. "Our ultra-high net worth families, foundations and endowments depend on BNY Mellon's investment expertise. Justin strengthens our team of highly seasoned investment experts serving the needs of high net worth individuals, families and businesses."

Miller was one of several new hires in the past year for the company's expanding presence in San Francisco, said Amy Millman, president of BNY Mellon's Northern California region. "We have steadily grown client assets in the past two years and increased our staff by 20% in the past year alone," she said. "With the addition of Justin we look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to attract and best serve new clients."

Miller received a juris doctor and master of laws in taxation from New York University School of Law and earned a bachelor's degree from University of California at Berkeley. Miller is also a member of the board of directors of the California Bar Foundation and a past member of the board of directors of the Constitutional Rights Foundation.
