LONDON, May 12, 2011 — BNY Mellon and London-based charity Community Links have been honoured at the Business Charity Awards 2011 for their five-year partnership, winning the award for 'Best Partnership between Finance or Professional Company and a Charity lasting more than 18 Months'.

Judge Tom Levitt, sector consultant and former MP, said: "BNY Mellon and Community Links have a partnership that is comprehensive, strategic, inclusive and progressive."

Community Links runs a network of community based projects in Newham that reach over 30,000 vulnerable children, young people, adults and older people each year under the auspices of tackling poverty, raising aspirations for a better life, extending opportunities in education and employment and building stronger communities.

In 2009, with support from BNY Mellon, Community Links launched an innovative programme called Future Links to assist NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people in breaking the cycle of dependency and develop plans to progress into sustainable employment, further education or training.

The partnership with Community Links is part of BNY Mellon's global programme 'Powering Potential', which provides support for workforce development and basic needs for those facing economic hardships worldwide.
