BNY Mellon Wealth Management Adds Two Sales Directors in New York Region

Goldstein and Gray Bring Strong Sales Skills to Strengthen firm's Tri-State Presence

NEW YORK, January 24, 2011 — BNY Mellon Wealth Management has expanded its New York regional sales force again with the appointment of Brendan A. Goldstein and James L. Gray as senior directors. Over the past year, the wealth manager's New York Tri-State region has added seven new sales directors as part of the firm's growth strategy. Both Goldstein and Gray are based in Manhattan and report to Thomas Hurlbrink, sales manager for the Tri-State region.

Goldstein previously served as global head of business development and chief revenue officer for The NewsMarket, now Synaptic Digital; a multimedia communication platform and professional service. Earlier in his career he was U.S. head of sales and business development for Bloomberg LP's legal offering, BLAW. He earned an MBA from Cornell University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.

A Manhattan resident, Goldstein is a member of the JCC Leadership Council, a volunteer with the United Jewish Appeal, an advisor to financial technology startups and supports various youth sports programs.

Gray comes to BNY Mellon Wealth Management from Legg Mason Investment Counsel where he was a managing director of sales and marketing for the past five years. Prior to that he served as managing director for sales for Deutsche Bank's private wealth group. He earned an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law, and an additional master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin.

A resident of Manhattan and Southampton, Gray is involved with several charitable organizations, as a member of the President's Committee of the Southampton Hospital Foundation and the Naval War College Foundation. He is a trustee of the LM Charitable Gift Trust and a supporter of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club and the Southampton Fresh Air Home. He is also a benefit committee member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
