Richly credentialed Brazilian will manage strategic expansion in rapidly growing region

NEW YORK, October 22, 2010 — BNY Mellon, the global leader in asset management and securities servicing, today announced the appointment of Dino Sani Jr. as managing director and head of treasury services for Latin America.

Sani brings more than 28 years of global trade, international cash management and banking services experience to his new position.  Most recently responsible for the development of a U.S.-focused initiative for Banco do Brasil, Sani previously served as general manager of the New York branch of Banco Itau S.A. While at Itau, he was responsible for the planning and implementation of a trade strategy for business development in Latin America. He received a B.S in economics from Pontificia Universidade Catolica of Sao Paulo and a master degree from Stern School of Business at New York University.  Reporting to Sani will be John Hernandez, who will continue to have senior relationship responsibilities for BNY Mellon Treasury Services in Latin America.

"Treasury services are an important part of BNY Mellon's growing presence in Latin America.  Strengthening our support for clients in Brazil is a focal point for our growth strategy in the region, and Dino's experience with Brazilian treasury services both in his native country and in the U.S. makes him the ideal leader for our Latin America team," said David Cruikshank, executive vice president and head of global sales and relationship management for BNY Mellon Treasury Services.
