Newton strengthens institutional pooled funds team

London, 16 September 2010 — Newton Investment Management Limited has strengthened its London-based pooled funds sales and account management team with the appointments of James Blake and Mark Hammond.

Mark Hammond has joined the company as team leader, institutional pooled funds team. Reporting to Matthieu Duncan (Head of Business Strategy), Hammond will be responsible for managing Newton's six -strong experienced institutional pooled funds team. Over a 28 year career in the investment management industry, Hammond has garnered a wealth of fund management, leadership, account management and investment sales experience. His roles have included most recently spending over nine years at Fidelity in a variety of client facing roles. He also worked at M&G Investment Managers for eight years, where he served as Director, Head of Japan and was lead manager of a number of investment strategies.

James Blake has joined the company as an account manager, reporting to Mark Hammond. Blake has extensive institutional account management and sales experience having spent over 14 years working in the investment management industry. Prior to his Newton role, Blake spent three years at AXA Investment Managers where he worked as a client relationship manager. Blake also spent 11 years working at Fidelity International in various account management and sales roles.
