BNY Mellon Appoints Juan Carlos Morales as President of BNY Mellon Mexico

NEW YORK, July 22, 2010 —BNY Mellon, the global leader in asset management and securities servicing, has appointed Juan Carlos Morales as president of BNY Mellon Mexico and general manager of the company's Corporate Trust business in Mexico.

Based in Mexico City, Morales will oversee the strategic direction and expansion of the company's local capabilities and presence across all business lines in Mexico with responsibility for local management of all shared services personnel who support BNY Mellon Mexico.  He will also be responsible for the operations, client service delivery and general management of the company's corporate trust business in Mexico.  Morales, who has become a member of the company's Latin America Management Committee, will be based in Mexico City and report to Rene Boettcher, BNY Mellon's Chairman of Latin America, and Sonia Chaliha, managing director of the Global Americas region for BNY Mellon Corporate Trust.

Morales, who joined BNY Mellon in 2004, was most recently chief financial officer of BNY Mellon Wealth Management.  He has over 20 years of experience in the oversight of all elements of financial management and control and, in 2009, was named CFO of the Year by the Boston Business Journal.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston Medical Center and on the advisory boards for Color Media Group and the Boston chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, a group he co-founded in 1998.
