Chris Henkel Joins Newton in Sales and Account Management Role

NEW YORK, LONDON and SAN FRANCISCO, June 3, 2010 — Newton*, part of BNY Mellon Asset Management, has announced that Newton Capital Management LLC, its business offering services in Canada and the U.S., has hired former founding partner of Thomas Weisel Partners, Chris Henkel, to create a presence on the West Coast.

Based in San Francisco, Chris Henkel joins Newton to head up the Western Region, focusing on client service, consultant relations and business development.  Prior to joining Newton, Henkel was a member of the founding group of partners at Thomas Weisel Partners Group, Inc. His responsibilities at Thomas Weisel Partners over a 10-year period included sales, marketing and business development for both the Asset Management and Institutional Equity Sales divisions.  Henkel brings a wealth of financial services experience gained from senior roles held at both Thomas Weisel Partners and Deutsche Bank Alex Brown over the past 20 years.
