Chong Jin Leow wins Custodian Banker of the Year

SINGAPORE, 16 October 2009 — Chong Jin Leow, head of Asia, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing, has been named Custodian Banker of the Year by Asian Investor.

Asian Investor's Annual Service Provider Awards recognise individuals and firms in the Asia securities servicing industry for exceptional performance, influence, innovation and commitment to the industry. The Asian Investor Custodian Banker of the Year category is awarded to a senior executive who has made a notable contribution to both his own company's profile and standing in the market, and who has also contributed to the better knowledge, functioning and understanding of the market as a whole.

Mr. Leow is responsible for BNY Mellon's asset servicing activities across Asia-Pacific and his achievements were highly commended by the panel of judges. In addition to positioning BNY Mellon as one of the industry's leading asset servicing providers in the region, Mr. Leow was recognised for his role in expanding the company's asset servicing presence across Asia, especially in Australia, China, India, Japan and South Korea, following many significant mandate wins. Leow was also lauded for his contribution over the past two decades in bringing securities services to Asia.
