BNY Mellon Selected as Depositary by Pampa Energia S.A. for its New York Stock Exchange Depositary Receipt Listing

NEW YORK, October 9, 2009 — BNY Mellon, the global leader in asset management and securities servicing, has been selected by Pampa Energia S.A. (Pampa Energia) as the depositary bank for its listed American depositary receipt (ADR) program. Each Pampa Energia ADR represents 25 common shares and trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol "PAM," while the common shares trade on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange under the symbol "PAMP."

Pampa Energia is a fully integrated electricity company in Argentina. Through its subsidiaries, the company is engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Argentina.
