Trophy seals a BNY Mellon hat trick of awards in seven days

SINGAPORE, 20 March 2009 — The Bank of New York Mellon received top industry recognition at The Asset magazine's Triple A Transaction Banking Awards 2009 last night scooping the title of 'Best Global Custodian' in Asia.

This latest accolade culminates a phenomenal week for BNY Mellon Asset Servicing. The company has been awarded three trophies in seven days including "Global Custodian of the Year" in Asia Asset Management magazine's 2008 'Best of the Best' Awards last Friday, and "Custodian of the Year" in the Global Pensions Awards 2009, held in London on Tuesday evening.

"Three awards in seven days is an incredible achievement," said Chong Jin Leow, head of Asia, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing. "It's certainly a tribute, not only to my team, but to our philosophy of client focus and service excellence."

"These are difficult times for our clients and they need a trusted partner who can help them grow their businesses by enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, allowing greater flexibility and mitigating risk. We are part of the solution. We will continue to do what we do best, deliver outstanding client service, invest in cutting-edge technology, pioneer new innovative products and attract and retain the best talent the industry has to offer," added Leow.

Earlier this month, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing had a strong showing in the annual R&M Global Custody Survey, in which BNY Mellon was ranked in first place in five categories — a feat matched by only one other provider — in the latest annual R&M Survey of custody clients and fund managers. In January, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing received the highest number of 'Top-Rated' recognitions (eight) and 'Best in Class' awards (142) out of all surveyed firms in Global Custodian magazine's 2008 Global Custody Survey.
