SYDNEY, 10 January 2008 — BNY Mellon Asset Management has announced that its Australian distribution subsidiary, BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia Limited, has appointed Vanessa Emilio to head client services for the growing division. In her new role, Emilio will report to Stephen Alcorn, Director of BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia Limited.

Emilio will serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients in order to understand their specific needs and, working with the existing team and specialist investment managers, develop tailored service solutions to meet the unique needs of each client. In addition, she will lead further development of the platform for BNY Mellon's client services in Australia and New Zealand.

A senior financial services professional with more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Emilio previously held roles at Citigroup, Macquarie Bank and Trust Company of Australia. She holds a BA with Honours from McGill University (Quebec) in International Relations and an LLB from Sydney University. She also holds a diploma from the school of Community and Public Affairs (Montreal) and is an International Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
