BNY Mellon Wealth Management Accepting Applications for Van Horne Fund Scholarships

PITTSBURGH, February 12, 2008 — BNY Mellon Wealth Management, a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon, announced that it is accepting applications for the Estella Van Horne Educational Fund scholarship. Crawford County high school seniors planning to continue their education are eligible to apply.

Application instructions for the Estella Van Horne Educational Fund scholarship may be obtained from any Crawford County high school guidance department. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of need, high school achievement, personal recommendations and personal educational goals.

A U.S. Army nurse who served during World War I, Miss Van Horne created the educational trust upon her death in 1982 to provide financial assistance to deserving and able young people from the Crawford County area.

The selection committee for the Van Horne Fund scholarship is comprised of the BNY Mellon Wealth Management trustee, a financial aid professional and a representative of the Crawford County Historical Society, who will review completed applications. Scholarship recipients will be announced in June.
