TORONTO, May 29, 2008 — Today, CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company announced that it has been named the best subcustodian in Canada for the second consecutive year in the 2008 Global Finance magazine survey. The survey measures the reliability of custody services provided in local markets and regions to global clients.

"CIBC Mellon once again leads the Canadian market for quality of subcustodial services," said Joseph Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director, Global Finance. "This achievement reflects the expertise and dedication of CIBC Mellon in providing clients with excellent service quality, even as the demands placed on local subcustodians by their global clientele are getting increasingly complex."

"We are very proud to receive the award for best subcustodian in Canada for the second consecutive year," said Thomas C. MacMillan, CIBC Mellon president and chief executive officer. "This prestigious award is a testament to our efforts to provide professional, accurate and reliable service along with local market expertise, and a robust technology platform."

The annual survey, now in its sixth year, solicits feedback from Global Finance editors, reporters and other expert sources to assess various categories including:

  • Customer relations
  • Quality of service
  • Competitive pricing
  • Technology platforms
  • Knowledge of local regulations and practices

Details of the survey results will be published in the July/August issue of Global Finance. The awards will be presented during the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in October 2008 in Washington, D.C.
