Former State Street COO for Asia joins BNY Mellon in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, June 26, 2008 — BNY Mellon Asset Servicing, the global leader in securities servicing, has appointed Rex Wong as a market segmentation specialist within the global product management team.

Based in Hong Kong, Wong will be responsible for market and sector analysis as well as defining and coordinating the implementation of future strategic growth opportunities across Asia. He will report to Francis Braeckevelt, managing director of Global Product Management — Asia, who is based in Singapore.

Wong has over 14 years experience in the asset servicing industry. He joins BNY Mellon from State Street Bank & Trust Company where he had progressive roles within client services and project management. He was most recently Asia Chief Operating Officer for State Street's investor services business, where he was responsible for the overall management of the operations team. The team provided custody, accounting, trustee, fund administration and transfer agency services for regional institutional clients, investment managers, unit trusts and exchange traded funds (ETFs).
