The Bank of New York Mellon Appointed Program Agent for Banco Continental's $250 Million DPR Bond Issue

NEW YORK, February 24, 2009 — The Bank of New York Mellon has been appointed registrar, paying agent and administrative agent for Banco Continental's $250 million diversified payment rights (DPR) bond issue. The DPR offering, which allows Banco Continental to collateralize its receivables, gives the company the flexibility to issue debt via loans and notes.

In its role, The Bank of New York Mellon will service the debt issues, process principal and interest payments and maintain security interest for investors. The Bank is the Latin American leader in DPR services, acting as trustee on all of the region's DPR transactions in 2008.

This is the second Peruvian DPR offering The Bank of New York Mellon has been appointed to service in recent months. Banco Internacional del Peru recently chose the bank to serve as corporate trust provider for its $200 million offering.
