LONDON, 27 July 2007 — Underlining its continued commitment to the German market, ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services B.V. has unveiled a new Kapitalanlagegesellschaft (KAG) lending product that offers benefits to both KAGs and investors.

For KAGs, ABN AMRO Mellon has automated the loan posting process through the development of a state-of-the-art interface, which enables all German KAG accounting systems to receive transactions and automatically post them to their systems.

These transactions include loan openings and closings as well as the posting of income, fees and partial loan transactions.

For investors, income is achieved through the securities lending programme, creating incremental revenue with minimal impact to the investment management process. The programme complies with all KAG regulations but also enables securities lending traders to respond to market demands.

"Our programme substantially reduces the workload placed on KAGs, and has been greeted enthusiastically by Spezialfonds investors who are encouraging their KAGs to implement the programme," said Michelle Grundmann, General Manager of ABN AMRO Mellon's Frankfurt office.

ABN AMRO Mellon anticipates that lendable assets amounting to several billion Euros will be committed to the new programme by the end of 2007.
