NEW YORK, April 15, 2008 — The Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE: BK) has received top ratings in Global Custodian's 2008 Tri-Party Securities Financing Survey. Global Custodian Magazine is a leading publication covering the international securities services industry.

Based on client input, The Bank of New York Mellon earned the following rankings: Top Rated Globally, Top Rated in North America and Commended in Europe. The Bank of New York Mellon received 'best-in-class' awards in all three regional categories of the survey -- North America, Europe and Global -- with a total of 14 best-in-class awards out of a total of 18.
