Pershing Unveils NetXInvestor™, its Next-Generation Investor Portal

Formerly NetExchange Client®, the new site experience has been redesigned and rebranded as NetXInvestor to deliver a highly customized, seamless experience for investors of all generations

Feb 11, 2014

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Feb. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon company, today announced the introduction of its redesigned investor-facing portal, NetXInvestor™. The new website experience offers a rich, intuitive user interface; streamlined navigation and visualization to improve data display and enhance opportunities for online advisor-client collaboration.

During months of research, Pershing and its clients identified the challenges with engaging a diverse client base, notably clients of different generations. The Gen Y population (those born since 1981, also referred to as Millennials) is completely at home with virtual communications and mobile devices, while Baby Boomers typically find greater satisfaction through personalized engagement with others. NetXInvestor will bridge these gaps by offering a highly customizable user experience depending on the individuals' overall level of experience with technology, a choice of navigation styles and access to research and tools that investors can personalize.

Intensive research and usability testing revealed common denominators that span all investor generations. For example, investors spend more time online than ever before, are pressed for time and work remotely with growing frequency. At the same time, investors are demanding more information and access to their accounts on a 24/7 basis. Regardless of age, they want a rich experience on their computers and devices. They also want to maintain a high level of trust with their advisors and have instant access to them when needed. Feedback gathered during the development process helped inform the new user interface, intuitive navigation, increase in self-service tools and enhanced graphics of NetXInvestor.

"The redesign of NetXInvestor delivers on one of our top priorities at Pershing – enhancing the investor experience," said Ram Nagappan, chief information officer of Pershing. "We are committed to creating an online experience that is easy to use, relevant to users of all generations and aligned with the ways in which investors and clients want to access information. Since different investors access information in markedly different ways, we have created a flexible, personalized digital experience that can be tailored to each individual's needs."

The new features will offer unprecedented flexibility for the user and an interface that responds dynamically to an investor's device, whether laptop, tablet or smart phone. Pershing will also introduce a new Communications section that will centralize information, including documents and client communications, and allow for greater advisor-client collaboration. Subsequent enhancements later this year are expected to include e-signature, investor-initiated asset movement requests and collaboration tools that further strengthen the advisor-investor relationship. As a result of its bottom-up rebuild, NetXInvestor provides investors with simple, consistent self-service account management capabilities.

"As technology becomes more pervasive, people have come to expect the same level of simplicity, functionality and intuitiveness in the applications they use in both their professional and personal lives," said Nagappan, "Through comprehensive research and by listening to these expectations, we have developed a platform that enables advisors and investors to work together collaboratively in new and powerful ways, whether that investor is 25 or 75."

NetXInvestor combines the former NetExchange Client®, NetExchange View™, NetExchange Select® and myeDocumentsuite.com, creating one unified experience for Pershing's clients and their investors.
