    BMO Harris Bank Appoints New Senior Vice President, Head of Central Region Retail and U. S. Mortgage Sales

    CHICAGO, October 17, 2016 – BMO Harris Bank today announced the appointment of Emilio Cooper as Senior Vice President, Head of Central Region Retail and U.S. Mortgage Sales for BMO Harris Bank.

     

    In addition to his current responsibilities leading Retail Banking for Central Wisconsin and Minneapolis as Regional President, Mr. Cooper will now be accountable for mortgage growth through customer experience excellence. As he collaborates with partners across BMO, Mr. Cooper will support an environment that encourages both strong community presence and the success of BMO Harris Bank customers across the U.S. Mortgage Banking footprint. He will continue to report directly to Alex Dousmanis-Curtis, Group Head for U.S. Retail and Business Banking.

    As Regional President, Mr. Cooper provides leadership to a team of over 1,000 retail bankers in 120 branches to exceed growth goals and deliver an exceptional employee and customer experience. As U.S. Head of Mortgage Sales, Mr. Cooper will lead a team of over 400 mortgage professionals across the U.S. footprint to exceed customer expectations, sales plan, and set the standard of excellence for Mortgage in the U.S. for BMO Harris Bank.

     

    With more than 22 years of banking experience, Mr. Cooper has strong familiarity with developing and leading high performing sales teams. Before joining BMO Harris Bank in 2013, Mr. Cooper served as Retail Director and Executive Vice President at Citizens Bank.  He held multiple roles during his 13-year tenure at Wachovia and Wells Fargo Bank, such as Community Bank President, Retail Bank Director and Private Advisory Leader.

     

    Mr. Cooper received his bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University in New Jersey and has been involved in the community throughout his professional career. Mr. Cooper has served as President of the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute and was on the Board of Directors for the Westchester Area Education Foundation. Most recently, he is the incoming Board Chair for the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin.
