Jeannie Mai and BMO Harris Bank Make Dream Come True for Florida Girl

TAMPA BAY, FL (September 19, 2013) – Chuanlin Lin has a passion for fashion. Her go-to person for fashion and styling advice is TV personality and fashionista, Jeannie Mai. It has been a dream of the Florida teen to meet her style idol someday.

Thanks to Children’s Dream Fund, with help from BMO Harris Bank, Chuanlin’s dream came true when she and her family flew to New York City in mid-September. In addition to shopping, tea at The Plaza, and hair and make-up at Bergdorf Goodman, Miss Lin met her fashion idol Jeannie Mai, and accompanied her to the Kids Rock Fashion Show, a New York Fashion Week event.

Chuanlin was recently honored at a Celebration of Life party in the St. Petersburg offices of the Children’s Dream Fund where she received her surprise-filled itinerary, airline tickets and spending money for her dream-come-true adventure.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to help fulfill a special teen’s dream,” said Dave Maraman, BMO Harris Bank Florida President. “There is more to being a bank than simply providing a safe place to deposit your money. We take our role of supporting our communities and their residents seriously.”

BMO Harris Bank provided the funding to sponsor Chuanlin’s Big Apple adventure through the Children's Dream Fund’s Share the Dream Program.

Cynthia Lake, Executive Director, Children’s Dream Fund, stated, “With the generous support of BMO Harris Bank, Chuanlin had the time of her life at New York's Fashion Week with Jeannie Mai.  The caring people at BMO Harris Bank have made memories for this brave young girl."

Jeannie Mai is an American makeup artist, fashion expert, and TV personality. She is best known for her work hosting the series “How Do I Look?” on the Style Network. As a fashion expert, she has appeared on television programs such as NBC’s “Today Show”.

The Children’s Dream Fund has been making dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses in West Central Florida since 1981.
