    BMO Harris Bank's Cheer Challenge Awards Local Nonprofits at Madison Mini-Marathon & 5K

    MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2013) - As title sponsor of the Madison Mini-Marathon & 5K, BMO Harris Bank awarded financial support to two local community-based groups, Porchlight and the Girl Scouts - Badgerland Council, through its first annual Cheer Challenge program at this year's BMO Harris Bank Madison Mini-Marathon & 5K.

    On Saturday, August 17, Porchlig ht and the Girl Scouts - Badgerland Council were each awarded $2,000 based on energy, spirit and attitude, uniqueness and creativity with costumes, themes and decorations.

    Community-based groups, clubs, teams and schools were invited to apply for the BMO Harris Bank Cheer Challenge to win up to $2,000 for participating on race day. Teams who applied shared how they impact their community, how they think their group will contribute to adding spirit and energy to the course on race day, and how they will use the prize money within their group or the community if they win.

"Our new Cheer Challenge initiative gave us the opportunity to recognize the values of commitment and teamwork both on and off the race course."

    BMO Harris Bank employees who participated in the race also raised over $2,100 for University of Wisconsin's Healthy Women Healthy Babies initiative.
