JOHN GLENN MAKES INAUGURAL TOUCHDOWN AT NAPLES PHIL
BMO Private Bank sponsors reception honoring 91-year-old living legend on his first visit to Naples

NAPLES, FL (March 26, 2013)—Former astronaut John Glenn has experienced many "firsts" in his legendary life, which were recounted recently at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts/Patty & Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art in Naples. The 91-year-old former U.S. Senator and his wife of 70 years, Annie, made their fir st touchdown in Naples where they were the guests of honor at a private reception sponsored by BMO Private Bank.

"It was a fascinating evening to meet this great American hero and to hear his first-hand accounts of his historical expeditions into space," reported A. "Not only did the former astronaut graciously spend time answering our guests' many questions and posing with them in photographs, but he provided thrilling tales of his adventures which many will only learn about in history books."

Those who attended the event were enchanted by Glenn's recount of the 1962 Mercury launch that took him around the globe three times before it caught fire. While traveling 17,500 miles per hour, Glenn was forced to manually guide the tiny craft as it rocked wildly with fiery bits of it burning off and flying past his window into space.
