BMO Harris Bank, Chicago Bulls Recognize 'Honorary Captains' for Military Service

CHICAGO, November 11, 2012 – BMO Harris Bank announced today, in partnership with the Chicago Bulls, the recognition of U.S. Army veterans Edward and Jerry Pasierb through the bank's "Military Moments" program.

The father and son were publicly honored at the Nov. 8, 2012 Chicago Bulls game for their military accomplishments and service. The bank's "Military Moments" program recognizes local veterans during the opening ceremony of a Chicago Bulls game. After taking part in the "Honorary Captains meeting" with the referees and the team captains for the Bulls and opposing team, the veterans are featured on the United Center's scoreboard and participate in the singing of the National Anthem.

"For the past 2 years, we've placed local veterans at center court, bringing to light their unwavering dedication and commitment to serving our country through our 'Military Moments' program," said Chris McComish, Executive Vice President, Personal Banking, BMO Harris Bank, and Executive Sponsor of the bank's Veterans Advisory Council. "The program, in partnership with the Chicago Bulls, allows us to acknowledge and thank veterans like Edward and Jerry who are true heroes in our communities."

Lemont resident and World War II veteran Edward Pasierb served as Private First Class in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 and fought with 11th armored division in the Battle of the Ardennes and Central Europe.

Downers Grove resident and West Point graduate Jerry Pasierb served as a Captain in the U.S. Army from 1984-1988 in West Germany as a Lance Missile Field Artillery Officer in the 3/12 Field Artillery Battalion. He currently serves as a Vice President, Retail Lending Operations at BMO Harris Bank, and is an active member of the company's Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) -- a group that enriches BMO Financial Group through the support, development and promotion of the unique talents of its military veterans, contributing to its success by providing a voice, offering perspective, lending assistance, preserving social memory and celebrating the diversity of its membership.
