BMO Supports Charlotte Street Fou ndation

    BMO Supports Charlotte Street Foundation

LEAWOOD, KS (Sept 24, 2012) –The Country Club Plaza enjoys a long and rich history of promoting the arts and artists. The BMO Harris Bank branch located on the Plaza was looking for an opportunity to bring attention to some of the lesser-known local visual artists. The end result was a private event designed to coincide with the Plaza Art Fair where select artists were able to share their work with a new audience. The visual artists whose works were displayed were chosen by Charlotte Street Foundation, an organization that supports and recognizes outstanding artists in Greater Kansas City.

"Our Plaza branch has a long history of supporting the local arts community and this is one way in which we can showcase the wonderful visual artworks created by artists who call greater Kansas City home," said Brad Smith, Kansas City President, BMO Harris Bank.

In addition to providing the artists a venue to share their work, Kelli Glynn, Kansas City Managing Director, BMO Private Bank, presented a contribution from BMO Harris Bank to the Charlotte Street Foundation at the event to further support their efforts.

Charlotte Street Founder and Co-Director David Hughes said, "We appreciate BMO Harris Bank's generous donation! For 15 years, Charlotte Street has been a primary catalyst in growing the Kansas City grassroots artists' community.  Donors like BMO Harris Bank help ensure that we continue to challenge, nurture, and empower artists of exceptional vision in Kansas City."

Smith commented, "As a company committed to supporting the needs of our communities, we realize what an important role the arts play. It's our privilege to assist Charlotte Street Foundation in their mission to foster a local vibrant arts community."
