Kansas City M&I Employees Provide Helping Hands

LEAWOOD, KS (June 5, 2012) - Kansas City area employees of M&I, a part of BMO Financial Group, are setting out to make a difference. The week of June 4, approximately 70 employees will be taking time away from their desk to help out their local community.

Heartland Habitat for Humanity will benefit from the sweat equity of M&I employees during the construction of a house located in Kansas City, Kansas. Habitat affiliates have built over 215 homes in Wyandotte, Leavenworth and Johnson counties in Kansas and Clay and Platte counties in Missouri.

"We truly appreciate the employees of M&I and their dedication to Heartland Habitat for Humanity. Devoting the entire week of June 4th to build a home for a family in need is a wonderful example of community commitment. We are successful because of the generous support from M&I and everyone involved," commented Tom Lally, Executive Director, Heartland Habitat for Humanity.

These activities are part of BMO Volunteer Day in which more than 6,500 BMO Financial Group employees across North America will be participating in over 400 projects to improve their communities. BMO Volunteer Day is an initiative that encourages employees to recognize the needs of their local community, establish a volunteer project and mobilize teams to fill that need. This is the first North American-wide BMO Volunteer Day, which initially started with efforts at both M&I in 2001 and Harris and BMO Capital Markets in 2007.

"M&I and our employees are committed to helping improve the quality of life in our local community," said Brad Smith, Kansas City President, M&I. "Volunteer Day is a great opportunity for us to make a significant impact in Kansas City."
