Harris states claim as Chicago's Helpful bank in new ad campaign

CHICAGO, August 29, 2006 – Harris is pleased to announce that it is time for people to try a bank that will give them what they're looking for – help.

"Our research shows Chicago-area personal and business customers don't have high expectations from the relationship they have with their bank – with one exception. Harris customers time and again told us that when they needed help, Harris was there," said Sandra Hanington, executive vice president, Harris Marketing and Customer Strategies.

The "help" theme builds on Harris' tradition of building lasting relationships and providing customer service that goes beyond just being friendly and efficient."

"Today, we've launched a new advertising campaign to let everyone who is just getting routine service from their bank know that Harris Equals Help," Hanington said.

The new ads will begin appearing in newspapers, magazines, billboards, radio spots, online and wrapped around "El" cars this week. The ads feature a wide range of helpful hints about living, working, and playing in the Chicagoland area, as well as information customers want to know about their bank such as rates, products, new locations and services offered.

"What's so exciting is that this is very different from what you usually see from banks. Harris puts the customer and the experience first," said Tracey Button, senior vice president and management director at Element 79 Partners "The campaign really showcases what Harris is all about – helping customers – in a lighthearted, intelligent way."

Harris is an integrated financial service organization that provides more than one million personal, business, corporate and institutional clients with banking, lending, investing, financial planning, trust administration, portfolio management, family office and wealth transfer services.
