Harris Bank Gives Small Business Lending Expo in Northbrook

March 2, 2004 Chicago, IL - Harris Bank is expan ding its Small Business Lending Expo to the Northbrook community. People thinking about starting a small business and current small business owners should attend and take advantage of free counsel on credit options and other business resources.

The Small Business Lending Expo is an important step in Harris Bank's efforts in delivering relevant financial education to the communities that it serves. The goal of the expo is to bring together diverse members of the lending community as well as some of its technical assistance partners and provide a comprehensive array of information for small business owners. The expo is free and attendees will be able to meet one-on-one with experts from various organizations and have access to information about the various sources of capital available to small business owners, including governmental and alternative lending solutions.

On Wednesday, March 17, Harris will be hosting the Expo at Renaissance Hotel Northbrook from 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Harris Bank launched this educational program in July 2003 at its Kenwood Branch, targeting small business clients, prospects and others with the objective to expand the program across the bank's branch network. This educational approach supports Harris Bank's small business strategy - making it more convenient to do business with and proactively finding solutions to unmet needs of the small business owner - and the bank's overall efforts at reaching out and responding to Chicagoland's diverse communities.

Harris Bank, with $30 billion in assets, is one of the largest community bank networks in Illinois, a nationally recognized provider of private client and personal trust services, and a premier Midwest mid-market corporate bank. Harris Bank has more than 153 locations throughout Chicagoland. Harris Bank is part of BMO Financial Group (TSX, NYSE: BMO), a highly diversified financial services organization.
