BOSTON, Oct. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Blue Cross) has named Andreana Santangelo as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Santangelo replaces Allen Maltz who will retire at the end of 2016. In her new role, Santangelo will be responsible for developing and leading the financial strategies of the state's largest private health plan with nearly $7 billion in annual revenues. Santangelo joined Blue Cross in 2003 and most recently served as its Chief Actuary. She assumes her new role immediately.

Before joining Blue Cross, Santangelo held various leadership roles at CIGNA. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Santangelo is also a member of the board of directors at Junior Achievement of Northern New England. She earned her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
