Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is the nation's top-ranked Medicare Advantage PPO plan on National Committee Quality Assurance's (NCQA) annual health plan ranking list
State's largest health plan is also among top plans in the country for private commercial plans

BOSTON — September 21, 2012 — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is the top-ranked Medicare Advantage PPO health plan in America, and the #25 Medicare Advantage plan, according to NCQA's Medicare Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012-2013.1 Both Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts' HMO Blue and PPO plans are also among the highest-rated private health plans in the nation.1

The 2012-13 NCQA Health Insurance Plan Rankings list measures of clinical performance and member satisfaction among 465 of the nation's Medicare health insurance plans and 538 private plans. Health plans throughout the country were evaluated on issues such as access to care; prevention efforts such as well-child visits; blood pressure and cancer screenings and treatment of diseases, such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease.
