The addition expands capabilities, further supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities
GREELEY, Colo. (Oct. 16, 2020) – Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC), in Greeley, welcomes new breast surgeon oncologist Kelsey Shay, MD.
Dr. Shay specializes in oncoplastic surgery, which is a combination of plastic surgery with oncological surgery with the benefit of achieving better outcomes for the patient. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Shay is also excited to work with the Spanish-speaking community, ensuring they clearly understand their medical journey.
Dr. Shay’s expertise, bi-lingual skills and overall dedication to patients will further support Banner MD Anderson’s efforts underway during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“Raising awareness about breast cancer is so important, especially during the pandemic when we know patients are skipping preventive care like mammograms,” said Dr. Shay. “By working at Banner MD Anderson, all the pieces of the puzzle are in place to allow me to better support my patients. I like to spend time with my patients in order to explain what’s happening, answer their questions and to work together to explore their treatment options. My goal is help patients feel as comfortable as possible.”
Dr. Shay graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and later completed her breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles.
