I have learned the treatment is only as good as what the patient will do, so it is very important that the patient agrees with the plan.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (July 02, 2019) – The Banner Health Center on Drake Road is expanding with the addition of Karen Valades, FNP.

Valades provides care for patients from infancy to elderly adults including care for chronic and acute conditions. With a background in cardiac care, Valades has a special interest in heart and kidney disease, and management of high blood pressure.

Valades attended Regis University in Denver, obtaining a master’s degree in nursing. She is certified as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and is a member of the American Nurses Association as well as the Colorado Nurses Association.

“I believe in engaging the patient to be involved in their care,” said Valades. “I don’t just tell them what needs to be done, I ask for their opinion and input when creating a plan of care. I have learned the treatment is only as good as what the patient will do, so it is very important that the patient agrees with the plan.”

In her free time, Valades enjoys reading and spending time with her family and horse. She is looking forward to meeting new patients and helping them make good choices to enhance their quality of life.

In addition to practicing at the Banner Health Center in Fort Collins, Valades will also be practicing at the Banner Health Clinic in Wellington, Colorado each Wednesday for half a day.

Banner Health Center is located at 702A W. Drake Road, Fort Collins. To schedule an appointment with Valades, call (970) 821-4600 or visit www.bannerhealth.com.
