JOHNSTOWN, Colo. (January 17, 2018) – Banner Medical Group is expanding its family practice care in Northern Colorado with the addition of Darrel Forslund, MD, who will treat both children and adults at the Banner Health Clinic in Johnstown.

As a family physician, Dr. Forslund will assist patients of all ages with comprehensive care as well as chronic diseases such as high-blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Additionally, Dr. Forslund also focuses on educating people on preventative steps to avoid future illnesses.

“I am excited to join the Banner Health team in Johnstown because I have a passion for making health care easier. I like getting to know my patients and their health histories and stories,” said Dr. Forslund. “I believe that each patient is unique, so it is important to get to know them as an individual to provide them the best care possible.”

Dr. Forslund attended medical school at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, earning a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Forslund is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Iowa Medical Society and Clay County Medical Society. 

Dr. Forslund recently moved to Colorado from Iowa to be closer to family. When he’s not treating patients, he enjoys hiking, camping and kayaking.
