GREELEY, Colo. (Jan. 2, 2019) – Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at North Colorado Medical Center and McKee Medical Center continue to bring specialty cancer care not previously offered locally with the addition of three physicians.

Joining the team are Dustin Boothe, MD, who specializes in radiation oncology in Greeley; Atuhani Burnett, MD, who specializes in surgical oncology with a focus on gastrointestinal malignancies in Greeley and Loveland; and Lin Hao, MD, who specializes in medical oncology and hematology with a focus on treating liver and gastrointestinal malignancies in Greeley.

“These new physicians have uniquely strong research backgrounds and bring something new to Banner,” said Jeffrey Albert, MD, physician director of the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center program in Northern Colorado. “Dr. Boothe has already expanded our services with a new, high-quality prostate brachytherapy program, as well as a new state-of-the-art technique for reducing side effects from prostate radiation therapy. Dr. Burnett brings a new service to Northern Colorado with his ability to take on more complicated surgical cancer cases, and Dr. Hao allows us to expand services to see more patients who need our services.”

Focused on ensuring the greatest probability of cure with minimized risk of potential side effects, Dr. Boothe’s philosophy is to educate and empower patients to make well-informed decisions that match their personal needs and values. Dr. Boothe graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College earning a doctor of medicine, and Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He recently relocated from Salt Lake City to Colorado. When he’s not helping his kids with math homework, he enjoys reading books, riding bikes and enjoying the mountains with his family.

“In my new position, what I’m most excited about is to get to know each patient who comes to our department for treatment,” said Dr. Boothe. “I am also thrilled to work each day with talented and devoted staff.”

Dr. Burnett’s practices are centered on doing the right thing for each patient as well as engaging the patient in the decision-making process. With his specialties, Dr. Burnett will be able to treat patients with more complex cancers locally. Dr. Burnett graduated from Vanderbilt University earning a doctorate of medicine and a doctorate of philosophy. He recently relocated from Canada. He enjoys hiking in the Rocky Mountains with his family in his free time.

“I am excited to see and work with patients and excellent colleagues,” said Dr. Burnett. “I am also excited to continue pushing myself to be a better doctor.”

Dr. Hao’s philosophy of care is to strive to treat patients as if they were his close friends. Dr. Hao graduated from Medical College of Suzhou University, Suzhou, China with a bachelor’s of medicine in clinical medicine, equivalent to doctor of medicine in the United States. He also attended Peking University Health Center, Beijing, China and earned a master’s of science in medicine; the University of Maryland to earn a doctor of pharmacy degree; and the University of Arkansas earning a certificate in clinical and translational sciences. He recently relocated from Arkansas. In his free time, he enjoys reading, biking and spending time with his daughters.

“I enjoy helping my patients find the best available treatment options for serious disease conditions,” said Dr. Hao. “The collaboration with the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center program will help me to bridge community patient care with a leading academic cancer center.”
