MESA, Ariz. (Aug. 17, 2018) -- Sixteen patients and family members at Cardon Children’s Medical Center received a big surprise on Thursday afternoon when a local business gave them new bicycles to brighten their spirits.

Senior leaders of Taylor Morrison Homes visited the hospital to build the bikes as part of a team-building exercise, then presented them to the children.

Banner Children’s patients who will received bikes range in age from 4 to 15 years old. Many were children who receive frequent treatment at the hospital for serious health conditions. This included an 8-year-old cancer survivor, and a 15-year-old girl who has received more than 200 blood transfusions since she was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder.
