Banner Pharmacy Services announces new CEO
Russ Funk, Pharm.D., MHSA, has been named the new chief executive officer of Banner Pharmacy Services

PHOENIX (July 13, 2018) – Russ Funk, Pharm.D., MHSA, has been named the new chief executive officer of Banner Pharmacy Services and will start his position July 23.

In his new role, Funk will oversee clinical services, acute care pharmacies, retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacy services, drug preparation and dispensing and pharmacy benefit management at Banner Health. Funk joins the team with strong leadership experiences from roles within the continuum of care that focused on innovative strategies and developing new products and solutions to enhance the quality of life for both patients and caregivers.

Funk comes to Banner Pharmacy Services most recently from Brecton Dickinson where he served as strategic customer vice president for eight years. Previously he held roles in clinical and operational pharmacy leadership, product management, and leading sales and marketing teams. Tina Armaki, chief operating officer of Banner Pharmacy Services, served as interim CEO following the retirement of founding CEO Pam Nenaber.

Funk earned his Pharm. D. from Creighton University and a Master's of Healthcare Services Administration from the University of Kansas. He joins the team from New Jersey and is excited to introduce his wife and kids to the area, play golf and coach baseball.
