OGALLALA, Neb. (June 25, 2018) — Banner Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Miles Tommeraasen, MD, as a new general surgeon at Ogallala Community Hospital. Dr. Tommeraasen is currently serving as locum tenens (temporary) and will become the hospital’s full-time general surgeon this summer.

Dr. Tommeraasen is a Nebraska native and has completed his education and worked for much of his career within his home state. “I enjoy working in a small, close-knit community and being able to develop a personal relationship with my patients,” says Dr. Tommeraasen. “In a smaller community I have the ability perform a variety of procedures to help my patients feel better almost immediately, which is incredibly gratifying.”

As a general surgeon, Dr. Tommeraasen performs a wide array of procedures including appendectomies, gall bladder surgery, upper and lower endoscopies, bowel surgery and wound care. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
