Four providers in palliative, pulmonary care join Banner Health in Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. (May 3, 2018) – Banner Medical Group has added four new health care providers to serve patients at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. The providers include a pulmonary and sleep medicine doctor as well as three nurse practitioners specializing in everything from adult-gerontology primary care, to pulmonary and sleep medicine, to palliative care.

Navpreet Sidhu, MD, has joined Banner Health specializing in pulmonary and critical care. Dr. Sidhu will see patients for common pulmonary diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and interstitial lung disease, as well as complex and rare conditions such as pulmonary hypertension and the pulmonary manifestation of other diseases. In addition to seeing patients in Greeley, she offers appointments at Banner Health Clinics in Fort Collins and Loveland.

“I am looking forward to providing my patients with individualized care and helping them to be well informed about their diagnosis as well as next steps in the management of their condition,” says Sidhu.

She graduated medical school at the Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research in Amritsar, India, and completed her residency at St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Sidhu completed her pulmonary disease and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the beautiful Colorado weather and hiking with her husband.

Kathryn Palmer, NP, is a nurse practitioner specializing in adult-gerontology primary care. She will practice at the NCMC Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Clinic treating a variety of sleep disorders including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and restless leg syndrome for adults of all ages including older and disabled adults.

“I am focused on providing high quality and compassionate care in the Northern Colorado communities,” says Palmer. “I look forward to teaching and helping my patients achieve their health goals.”

Palmer received her master of science, with a specialization in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

She enjoys spending time with her two active sons and especially running and hiking. She also plays the viola in a community orchestra.

Katherine Kavanaugh, NP, is a nurse practitioner specializing in pulmonary and sleep medicine. She will treat the full gamut of sleep disorders and pulmonary conditions and strive to improve the lives and overall health of her patients.

“My philosophy of care mirrors the nursing core values: caring, integrity, diversity, excellence,” says Kavanaugh. “I practice with dignity, care, kindness and respect for my patients and their families to exceed their expectations and make a difference.”

Kavanaugh completed her master’s in nursing education and acute care nurse practitioner from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In her free time, Kavanaugh enjoys playing tennis, hiking, skiing and knitting. She is married with seven children and two dogs.

Natalie Sheehan, DNP, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in palliative care, a specialized medical care for people with life-limiting illnesses. She will focus on chronic illnesses, symptom management and advance care planning (making decisions about the care you would want to receive if you become unable to speak for yourself).

“I believe patients should always have a voice in their care,” says Sheehan. “It’s important for me to look at the whole person and provide the highest quality care to help my patients and their families through a difficult situation.”

Sheehan received her bachelor of science in Nursing from Utica College in New York and her doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Sheehan enjoys spending time with her husband and son as well as their dog, Piper. She loves being outdoors in Colorado and spending time immersed in a good book.
