MESA, Arizona – Today, Cardon Children’s Medical Center unveiled a new colorful and child-friendly treatment room, designed to complete invasive procedures on patients outside of their room in a comfortable setting. The fun, jungle-themed room minimizes stress through 3D wall images. Nurses and caretakers also have the ability to distract patients through i-Spy games and interact with patients while they are waiting for a procedure to begin.
The room was built in partnership with Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Three-year-old patient Miracle Dong helped the nursing staff, local nonprofit Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children and executives at Enterprise Rent-A-Car cut the ribbon to the treatment room. She was also able to choose a toy from the hospital’s toy closet.
