Banner Health Foundation Statement

Banner Health Foundation extends heartfelt sympathy to the entire Cardon family as they face the tragic loss of Wil Cardon.

Along with his father, Wilford A. Cardon, a Banner Health board member for 28 years, Wil was a truly inspirational supporter of Banner.

More than 10 years ago, Wil served as co-chairman of the pediatric fundraising campaign for Banner's first free-standing children's medical center, known today as Cardon Children's Medical Center on the campus of Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa. The medical center was named to honor the Cardon family for their exceedingly generous gift and for their long record of service to Banner Health.

Wil's commitment and dynamic leadership as campaign co-chair helped secure significant additional funding that brought to life what was, at the time, the only children's medical center in Arizona built from the ground up. A pioneering Arizona family, the Cardons demonstrate a steadfast commitment to community service, generous good deeds, and philanthropy--and a deep love for Arizona. Wil leaves a meaningful legacy and he will be sorely missed.
