OGALLALA, Nebr. (July, 25, 2017) – Two employees at Ogallala Community Hospital have earned scholarships from the Nebraska Hospital Association Research and Educational Foundation (NHAREF) to help further their education in health care.

Mara Peters, a medical assistant, received tuition aid as part of the foundation’s 2017 Graduate Studies Tuition Aid Program. She plans to pursue Master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions.

Stacie Marquez, nursing assistant, is a recipient of the 2017 Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship Program. She plans to pursue an associate’s degree in nursing at Mid-Plains Community College.

NHAREF aims to help address the ongoing shortage of health care providers through two scholarship programs for undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarship programs also aim to encourage medical students to establish their careers in Nebraska.
