MESA, Arizona – The holiday spirit of giving was in full display at Cardon Children’s Medical Center on Wednesday. Santa visited children to deliver about 1,000 gifts collected from the City of Mesa’s annual toy drive to benefit young patients at the hospital.

This marked the ninth year the city’s leaders, employees and community worked together to gather hundreds of donated items to help fill the hospital’s toy closets during the season. Children who are patients at Cardon all year get to choose a toy from the closet after they’ve undergone difficult treatment sessions.

City officials, firefighters, Blue Santa and police officers distributed the toys.
