UArizona Men’s Basketball Halftime Show on March 5 to feature tribute to Diamond Children’s
March is Child Life Month and the event will honor four children who are being treated at Diamond Children’s Medical Center

TUCSON, Ariz. (March 5, 2020) – For their bravery in the face of illness, four children who are battling serious health issues will be recognized during the halftime show on March 5 at the University of Arizona men’s basketball game versus Washington State.
The patients will be honored during the halftime show scheduled to take place March 5 at 9:30 p.m. in McKale Memorial Center, 1721 E. Enke Drive, Tucson, 85721. Game tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
The children vary in age, but they are all big UArizona basketball fans.
The event commemorates national Child Life Month held in March. The month recognizes and celebrates child life professionals who work in pediatric environments to support children and their families and minimize stress and trauma during medical treatment.
Child life specialists use their knowledge and experience to help families maintain a sense of normalcy during their medical treatment and are the heart of pediatric care at Banner Children’s at Diamond Children’s Medical Center. Child life specialists provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation and education that reduce fear, anxiety and pain for children and their families.
