Banner Health’s response to Hurricane Harvey and the resulting area floods:

For our clinical partners at MD Anderson Cancer Center:

  • The employees of Banner Health and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center extend their heartfelt support to their 20,000 colleagues at their clinical partner in Houston, MD Anderson Cancer Center. We stand with you, MD Anderson.
  • We have received calls at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center from patients displaced by the flooding in Houston who want to continue their chemotherapy at a partner facility. We are not recommending that these patients travel to Banner MD Anderson at this time as MD Anderson Cancer Center has entered its recovery phase and is addressing urgent patient needs and rescheduling appointments.  We are staying in contact with our MD Anderson colleagues in Houston to better understand how we can best support them.

Other information:

  • We’re providing regular hospital capacity updates to Arizona and Colorado state Emergency Management departments in the event it becomes necessary to transport patients out-of-state from any of the Houston-area hospitals.
  • Banner clinical staff are requesting to assist in recovery and support efforts, and are exploring the best opportunities to become involved.
  • Banner will launch its employee-giving campaign next week with a focus on the agencies most responsible for caring for those impacted by this natural disaster.
