Banner Children’s invites kids to join ‘Clean Hands Club’
Free coloring pages helps kids learn about hand washing
We know it’s challenging to keep children busy and entertained during this time of isolation, and this is one small way to help brighten their day while helping them learn healthy habits.

PHOENIX (April 15, 2020) – Banner Children’s is encouraging kids to join the "Clean Hands Club" by taking part in a fun coloring challenge while learning about the importance of proper handwashing, especially during a pandemic.

Free coloring pages are available to download, along with useful information for parents to help teach their kids correct handwashing techniques. The coloring pages are offered in two versions: one for boys and one for girls. Once kids finish coloring, parents are encouraged to take a picture and post to their Instagram story, tagging @Banner_Health for a chance to be featured on Banner Health’s social media accounts.

"We know it’s challenging to keep children busy and entertained during this time of isolation, and this is one small way to help brighten their day while helping them learn healthy habits," said nurse Tracey Fejt, trauma injury prevention coordinator at Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. (Fejt is pronounced "fate'').

Keeping your hands clean is one of the most important things everyone can do to avoid getting sick and spreading germs. Many illnesses are spread by not washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer. The Centers for Disease Control recommends cleaning hands for a full 20 seconds to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
