PHOENIX (June 5, 2019) – The Banner Health and MD Anderson Cancer Center partnership will be expanding this summer with a newly constructed, outpatient treatment center located on the campus of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Patients will begin to receive care at the location on Tuesday, June 11.

The collaboration, named Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at University Medical Center Phoenix, will provide greater access to cancer treatments that are among the most advanced in the nation. The new building was constructed with the patient in mind and was tailored to provide a cohesive experience starting from the parking lot to receiving treatment.

The 85,000-square-foot building was constructed on the west side of the hospital campus, with a total project budget of $34 million, and it has features including two linear accelerator vaults, private port lounges, an onsite lab. The center was built with future expansion capabilities.

Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center’s most distinctive feature is its team approach to care. Patients will receive specialized care with disease-specific specialists available in the Valley.

Construction was completed in partnership with Kitchell and HKS Architects.
