Media advisory: How best to cope with mental-health aspects of current events
Banner Health behavioral health experts gives wellness tips for difficult times

PHOENIX (June 3, 2020) – After weeks of dealing with COVID-19 and a weekend with unrest across the country, it’s reasonable to feel anxious and uncertain, say Banner Health behavioral experts.

Banner Health behavioral health experts are available for interviews via Zoom or other platforms. Experts can speak more in-depth on how to deal with feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious or depressed as well as how parents can address current events with their teens and children.

A survey just released showed that during the COVID-19 pandemic found a more-than-threefold increase in the percentage of U.S. adults who reported symptoms of psychological distress -- from 3.9 percent in 2018 to 13.6 percent in April 2020.
