Banner experts provide tips for long-term planning

MESA, Ariz. (Aug. 10, 2018) – Banner Health is hosting an afternoon of informative and interactive help for long-term care planning at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa. Banner medical experts as well as local elder law experts will help empower you to make plans for your future during a program entitled “Who will take care of you when you can’t?”

This important event runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2018 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in the Superstition Education Conference Rooms. The event is free and light refreshments will be served.

The following presentations will be offered:

  • 10:15-11 a.m. - “Dementia and Disease Progression,” Dr. Chikal Patel, Banner Baywood medical director, Palliative Care

  • 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. - “Advanced Dementia and Treatment Navigation,” Dr. Sarah Payne, medical director, Banner Home Care and Hospice

  • 12:15-1 p.m. - “Dementia Care Options,” Marylou Hernandez, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, Family and Community Services navigator                                               

  • 1:15-2 p.m. - “Financial Planning for Long Term Care," Jackson White Attorneys at Law, Specialist Elder Attorney

In addition to these helpful presentations, senior care service representatives will be present including:

Banner Home Care and Hospice, Jackson White Attorneys at Law, skilled nursing facilities, health and rehab, group homes, food bank resources, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, Area Agency on Aging and stroke educators.
