TOLLESON, Ariz. (March 1, 2019) -- The NASCAR Foundation, through its Speediatrics Children’s Fund, has partnered with ISM Raceway, the Banner Health Foundation and the Tolleson Elementary School District to host its third-annual Speediatrics Fun Day Festival for students at P.H. Gonzales Elementary School.

The NASCAR-themed festival, geared toward inspiring children to lead a healthy lifestyle, will begin at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at P.H. Gonzalez Elementary School, 9401 W. Garfield St.

In addition to learning about healthy lifestyle habits, fourth-grade students will participate in field day activities such as a Goodyear tire race, gas can relay, and pit crew challenge alongside active NASCAR drivers, who will encourage them to stay active and eat well.

A ceremony at 9:15 a.m. will recognize the Tolleson Elementary School District and Banner Health Foundation for the health care they provide to the community and students who attend P.H. Gonzales Elementary School. It is the only school in the state of Arizona to have a free health clinic on campus to serve uninsured and underinsured youth.

Participants include Anna Tovar, Mayor of Tolleson; Lupita Hightower, Tolleson Elementary School District superintendent; Julie Giese, president of ISM Raceway; Nichole Krieger, executive director of the NASCAR Foundation; Pat Rankin, MD, CEO of Banner Medical Group; Cassie Gannis and Jagger Jones, drivers for NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
