Rogerio Lilenbaum, MD, begins new role on Feb. 3,

GILBERT, Ariz. (Dec. 23, 2019) -- Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center recently named Rogerio Lilenbaum, MD, as its new director. He’ll begin the new role on Feb. 3, providing leadership, vision, direction and development of all Banner MD Anderson clinical programs and its enterprise-wide efforts.
He joins Banner from Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine, where he most recently served as chief medical integration officer for ambulatory services. Between 2013 and 2018, Lilenbaum served as the first chief medical officer for the Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. There he oversaw clinical programs, clinical operations, as well as quality, safety and network development for the cancer program.

Prior to 2013, Lilenbaum was chairman of the Cancer Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida.
Lilenbaum received his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine in Brazil, and earned a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology and clinical investigation from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine and a clinical and research fellowship at the University of California San Diego. Lilenbaum is a board-certified medical oncologist with expertise in thoracic malignancies. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.
